Associate Attorney

 Job Description:

The role represents attorneys in bar applications and disciplinary proceedings, offering legal counsel to protect their rights.

Responsibilities:

Client Representation:

  • Advise attorneys on their rights and obligations during disciplinary proceedings.
  • Keep clients updated and address concerns throughout the process.
  • Represent attorneys at hearings and defend their reputation.

Case Investigation and Documentation:

  • Investigate complaints, gather evidence, and prepare defense strategies.
  • Negotiate settlements and collaborate with colleagues on defense efforts.

Growth and Professional Development:

  • Support training materials and client acquisition.
  • Stay updated on legal ethics and participate in industry associations.

Other:

  • Bill daily via Clio.
  • Foster a positive work environment and client-focused mission.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years in litigation, legal ethics, or disciplinary defense
  • California State Bar experience preferred.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active state bar membership.

    Knowledge/Skills:

    • Manage multiple cases and meet deadlines independently.
    • Strong communication, research, and analytical skills.
    • Skilled in negotiation and problem-solving.
    • Effective in working with attorneys, assistants, and clients.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
    • Adaptable to fast-paced environments and new technology.
    • Fluent in English and open to feedback.
