About the job Director, Capital Markets

Position Overview:

Responsible for (i) the structuring and execution of new structured issuances, (ii) the ongoing monitoring and management of existing issuances, and (iii) managing and cultivating relationships with institutional investors.

Job responsibilities:

1. Function as the right-hand person to the Head of the Capital Markets team and act as a sounding board for the team's corporate objectives

2. Manage the staffing and work allocation of junior team members

3 . Lead the team in project management and execution of new public and private Infrastructure Asset-Backed Securities (IABS) transactions or other structured solutions, including the following scope of work:

  • Selection and appointment of transaction counterparties
  • Obtaining senior management and/or Board approval where required
  • Financial modeling and cash flow analysis
  • Ratings analysis and modeling
  • Marketing and due diligence materials
  • Investor presentations and Q&As
  • Legal documentation
  • Operational setup and other administrative workstreams

4. Ongoing reporting and investor relations work for outstanding IABS transactions

5 . Generate and develop new business ideas and leads for the team

6. Connect and establish relations with new institutional clients for MIS Group

7. Preparation of presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders

8. Collaborate with other teams within Clifford Capital on firm-wide initiatives


Job requirement:

  • At least 10 to 12 years of relevant working experience in one or more of these fields: debt capital markets, securitization, structured finance, project finance, corporate finance, leveraged finance, treasury (funding), and investor relations.
  • Good university degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Law, or a related subject. Professional qualifications such as CFA charter holder or chartered accountant will also be considered.
  • An understanding of securitization and capital market products would be preferred.
  • Familiarity with securitization modeling software (such as Moodys CDOROM and CDOEdge, S&P CDO Evaluator and Cash Flow Evaluator, INTEX DealMaker, and INTEX Calc) would be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent presentation, numerical, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven track record of building, cultivating, and maintaining client relationships.
  • Possesses a business owner mindset, with a strong drive to grow the firm's footprint and spectrum of product offerings for institutional investors.
  • Pro-active and self-starter attitude, motivated to constantly improve him/herself and encouraging towards junior team members.
  • Tremendous level of attention to detail.
  • Resilience and ability to remain calm in the face of business challenges or setbacks.
  • Passionate about new idea generation, with the determination to test and implement such ideas till fruition.
