About the Role
The firm is seeking a Paralegal to support partners and associates in its Cayman Islands IPC team. The role blends legal support (research, drafting, document review) with practice support (matter administration, CDD, billing, CRM, and BD logistics) — a varied, hands-on position for someone organised, proactive, and client-focused.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Support
- Review and summarise legal documents and diligence materials
- Conduct research and produce clear notes with sources and conclusions
- Draft routine documents from precedents, escalating complex issues
- Check documents for accuracy (names, dates, formatting, execution blocks)
- Help prepare client correspondence and reports
- Attend client meetings, take notes, and follow up on action points
- Prepare execution packs and coordinate signing logistics
Matter & Practice Support
- Maintain organised, system-based filing
- Manage file opening, CDD tracking, and chasing outstanding items
- Support document production for transactions (bundles, signature copies)
Billing
- Coordinate billing — narratives, time entries, draft bills, WIP monitoring, approvals, and liaison with finance
- Maintain billing discipline and visibility on matter status
CRM, Marketing & BD
- Keep CRM updated with contacts and interaction notes
- Support BD activities, including events, travel, and logistics
- Assist with various projects to keep the practice running smoothly
Qualifications & Experience
- High school or degree level education
- Paralegal qualification a plus, not required
- Prior experience in a legal environment preferred
- Strong IT/document management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to learn Cayman Islands law
