About the job Senior Finance Analyst

The Senior Finance Analyst performs a variety of financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, building financial models, assisting with financial planning, performing research and analysis, preparing reports, and assisting with close processes. This role is a key member of the Strategic Finance (FP&A) team which works closely with various departments within the company to drive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting. The duties include analysis of complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.

Detailed duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, investigating variances and identifying trends and opportunities.
  • Provide FP&A finance support to the accounting teams related to productivity, demand planning, reporting, and metrics in a timely manner.
  • Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; and developing action plans.
  • Prepares internal and external reports for executive leadership in support of decision-making.
  • Identifies opportunities, proposes improvements in financial reporting, and helps in the implementation of new projects or improvements.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and ensure cost-control measures are in place.
  • Ensure compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations.

Other Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Ideally with 5 years of progressive expertise in financial analysis and currently in an FP&A role with knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles.
  • Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance and information analysis, financial modeling, and scenario planning skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in spreadsheets/ databases, MS Office, and financial software applications.
  • With hands-on experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages
  • Excellent communication skills, able to interpret and present data effectively to finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and collaborate within a team.
  • Capable of building a strong team and partnership with Stakeholders.
