Senior Manager, Physical Security

The Senior Manager, Physical Security at Castelion is responsible for managing enterprise security operations across multiple critical defense manufacturing facilities. In this role, you will enforce security standards, hire and lead site supervisors and security officer teams, and maintain a professional internal security program to support the protection of advanced defense technologies, personnel, and sensitive operations. This position offers the opportunity to architect a world-class physical security program from the ground up at a rapidly scaling defense manufacturer, making a direct contribution to national security and mission success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead physical security operations across multiple sites nationwide, overseeing armed and unarmed proprietary security programs and ensuring consistent execution of enterprise security standards.
  • Build, launch, and scale Castelion's proprietary security officer program from the ground up, including organizational structure, staffing models, recruiting, training, scheduling, post orders, uniforms and equipment, supervisory controls, and operational readiness.
  • Hire, develop, and lead Physical Security Supervisors and Security Officers while establishing performance standards, training and qualification requirements, inspections, metrics, and accountability mechanisms.
  • Develop and implement physical security standards, procedures, and operational programs covering access control, patrol operations, incident response, emergency response, visitor management, and guard force operations while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and licensing requirements.
  • Serve as the Director of Physical Security's senior operational leader, managing security budgets and resources, supporting new-site security implementation, coordinating with internal stakeholders and emergency services, and providing leadership continuity across the Physical Security organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional physical security experience, including 5+ years leading security operations, supervisors, and security officer teams.
  • Demonstrated experience building, scaling, or significantly transforming security operations, including staffing models, recruiting, training, scheduling, post orders, and performance management.
  • Experience managing armed and unarmed security programs with responsibility for operational compliance, training, incident response, and officer performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement physical security standards, procedures, and operational programs across multiple sites or complex facilities.
  • Strong leadership, program management, stakeholder communication skills, with demonstrated ability to independently execute complex security initiatives in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling organization.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience building a proprietary security officer program from the ground up or leading a major transition from contract security to an internal proprietary model.
  • Experience within aerospace, defense, cleared facilities, manufacturing, critical infrastructure, or other high-security environments.
  • Working knowledge of state-level proprietary security, armed officers, firearms, licensing, training, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Deep operational knowledge of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, visitor management, patrol operations, emergency response, and physical security systems.
  • Professional security certification (CPP, PSP, or equivalent), prior security clearance, or relevant military or law-enforcement leadership experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to build and lead high-performance security teams in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling organization with autonomy and incomplete information.
  • Professional presence and ability to represent Physical Security effectively with executives, government customers, and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to respond to after-hours incidents and emergencies as needed; valid driver's license required.
  • Must successfully pass comprehensive background investigation and any required pre-employment screening to include obtaining at minimum a secret clearance.
  • This role requires full-time onsite presence based in Torrance, CA with frequent travel to other company sites.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to travel frequently by air and ground to multiple sites.
  • Ability to conduct site assessments requiring walking large facilities, climbing stairs, and navigating industrial environments.
  • Ability to respond to incidents that may require extended periods of standing, walking, or working in varying environmental conditions.
