To supply accurate and concise financial information relating to Operational Area

Requirement:

  • Minimum NQF 6 financial qualification with a minimum of 3 years related experience

  • Excellent computer literacy (Advanced Excel)
  • Working knowledge of SAP will be advantageous

Income Statement Review

Review the P&L statement to identify errors, omissions, and exceptions for investigation across all disciplines

Review the profitability of divisions in Operations Area, under your control, and prepare report accordingly

Approve all journals

Balance Sheet Analysis and Maintenance

Review cash clearings

Review and approve bank balances to General Ledger

Authorise and release debtors bulk account refunds and reinstatements

Review and sign off of monthly GL debtor’s recons and follow-up on reconciling items.

Review and sign off of monthly reconciliations

Monthly accruals to be reviewed and signed off

Review and approve month end provisions for bad debts, VIC’s and any other debtor’s exceptions

Review and sign off of reconciliations and supporting documentation from third parties

Review all clearing accounts and escalate where necessary

Approve all journals

New Stores / Relocations / Refurbishments / Lease Renewals

Coordinate the site opening / lease renewal process from a financial perspective

Review and approval of store budgets

VIC’s – Reviewing, managing and payments thereof

Review provision for all VIC customers

Review reports for Divisional Manager approval of credit notes for VIC customers

Approve the generation of the bi-annual credit notes for all VIC customers

Feasibility studies

Review and present feasibility studies to Operations Executives and Financial Director

Banking

Authorise the refunding of bulk deposits on the banking system

Verifying of sweeps and collections

Deal with the bank on daily operational matters arising in your area.

Reporting

Review and prepare board packs accurately and timeously for approval by General Manager Finance

Monthly management pack to be sent out to Operations monthly

 Prepare month end reports for presentation to General Manager Finance

Ad hoc reporting as required by management

Monthly Taxes (import duties, VAT, and withholding tax)

Review tax returns and management of control accounts

Annual Expense Budgets

Review annual expense budgets and present to Operations and General Manager Finance

Financial support to operations

Provide proactive advice and support to Operations

Attend Operational monthly meetings to provide financial support / feedback on information required

Value Added Services

Ad hoc projects as and when required

Recommend improvements within the financial department

Propose new efficiencies outside area of responsibility
