Description:
To supply accurate and concise financial information relating to area of responsibility
Requirement:
- Minimum Grade 12 or NQF 5
- With Financial degree and a minimum of 3-5 years general management experience
- Proven experience with reporting in a multi-currency environment
- Must be able to report and maintain accounting records for multiple entities
- SAP experience would be advantageous
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid ID or passport

Financial Reporting
Manage and review of cash clearings and credit card clearings
Manage and review of month end accruals
Manage and review approved journals
Manage and review all expenses for area of responsibility
Manage and review of trading activities against benchmarks for area of responsibility
Ensure housekeeping is in order
Review and analyse financial performance of operational area with accountant in preparation for prelease and advise operators on trends
Prepare 4-year P&L for operators to present at the executive presentation
Review monthly budgets for specific Operational Area to compare on a monthly basis and understand reasons for variances
Review, approve and distribute monthly management packs to stores, Divisional Managers and Operations
Budgets
Review budgets and compare to company benchmarks
Present budgets to Operational Executives for authorization
Prepare ad hoc reports, relating to budgets, as requested by business
Coordinate and ensure that the full financial budget process is run
Audit
Liaise with external and internal auditors
Banking
Ensure that all ad hoc bank queries are attend to by subordinates
Attend regular meetings with service providers
Review and recommend improvements on cash handling
Approve and release payments on banking system
Preparation for new stores:
Ensure bank accounts are opened for new stores
Ensures card devices are ordered and functional
Process Improvements
Ad hoc projects as and when required
Critically analyses business processes and recommend improvements
Propose new efficiencies outside area of responsibility
Secondary Taxes
Review of VAT, Withholding tax and import duty returns and payments to be done accurately and on time
Manage and action dividends as per country legislation
Working capital
Depending on your area of responsibility:
Coordinate and ensure Stock reporting is completed timeously and accurately
Coordinate and ensure Fixed assets reporting is completed timeously and accurately
Coordinate and ensure Debtors, legal and charge cards reporting is completed timeously and accurately.
Bulk refunds review and authorize payment to customer.
Review bulk reinstatements documentation and authorize reactivation on SAP.
Calculate group management fees
Board Packs
Coordinate, Review and approve quarterly board packs for area of responsibility
Attend quarterly Board meetings to provide financial support / feedback on information required
Feasibility studies
Coordinate the preparation of feasibility studies to present to the business for:
New stores
Relocation of stores
Refurbishments of stores
Lease Renewals
Closures
Or for any other requested reasons
Prepare and present feasibility studies to Operational Executive and Financial Director
Financial support to operations
Provide proactive advice and support to Operations to assist in strategic decision making
Compile and submit reports to operations when required
Attend Operational monthly meetings to provide financial support / feedback on information required
Competent and motivated staff
Performance Appraisals implemented and maintained for each staff member
One on one meetings held regularly
Succession plans to be in place (you and direct subordinates)
Responsible for on-the-job training and assistance in specific Operational Area
