As a Job Captain, you'll partner with clients, design leaders, project managers, and interdisciplinary teams to help bring visionary concepts to reality.
Your Role
As a Job Captain at CJ+C, you will play a key role in the development and documentation of design across multiple project phases. Working closely with project leaders and interdisciplinary teams, you will contribute technical expertise and organizational leadership to support the successful delivery of complex projects, particularly high-rise mixed-use and residential buildings. With 2–10 years of experience, you bring a strong understanding of building systems, documentation processes, and code requirements while helping guide coordination between clients, consultants, and internal teams.
What You Will Do
- Design of Type 1, high rise, mixed use/residential and civic buildings, in the form of plans, elevations, sections, and perspectives in accordance with applicable codes such as land use (San Diego), building codes (CBC, UBC) and FHA and ADA codes, using Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp 3D and InDesign.
- Create illustrations and renderings in the form of plans, elevations, and perspectives for presentations to clients, public, and governmental/city agencies.
- Develop and document project design in the form of construction drawings including plans, sections, elevations, wall sections, schedules, and details.
- Coordinate project design with consultants including landscape, structural, mechanical, civil, code, and waterproofing consultants.
- Interface with clients through meetings and presentations while supporting project coordination and communication.
- Contribute to the organization and execution of project deliverables within a collaborative team environment.
Your Qualifications
- 2–10 years of experience in related field
- Revit working proficient experience
- Basic knowledge of functional analysis and space planning principles
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within field
- Knowledge of code requirements
- Ability to interpret specifications and layouts
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Technology Interface
- Demonstrated capacity to identify, organize, and execute software technology strategies/implementations for state-of-the-art expressions of design intent on behalf of desired design ideas.
- Practical knowledge of various industry wide typical software systems: CADD at the rendering level, BIM, Revit, Organizational Management, Project Scheduling, SketchUp, InDesign and Microsoft.
