Security Concierge

• To ensure the safety and security of all associates, guests and the property and to maintain associates’ discipline. 

• To report to the security supervisor on duty, timely and properly on any matters relating to the property.

• Responsible for handling of all guest luggage during arrival and departure from the property.

• Responsible for providing accurate information concerning hotel facilities, venues and functions and handling guest inquiries.  

• To prevent undesirables and person with mental illness from entering the residence lobby.

• To engage professionally with any guests entering the lobby and to encourage them to register at the reception desk.

• To examine the goods taken out of the property and to check whether the item and quantity of the goods tally with the Property Exit Permit in order to prevent any loss or pilferage in the property.

• To prevent any combustible or flammable items from being brought into the property. If any combustible or flammable items are to be brought into the property, the Security Officer shall report to the Security Supervisor on duty and to assist to relocate the items in safe and secured place.

• To direct and evacuate associates and guests immediately to the Assembly Area in the event of an emergency in the property.

• Adhere to the property’s grooming standards at all times.

• Welcomes and greets guests (by name if known) always in a warm and friendly manner.

• Ensures sufficient storage of guest luggage and deliveries in the appropriate storage areas.

• Ensure that all arriving & departing guests are correctly addressed and made to feel welcomed / thanked for choosing Oakwood

• Keeps personally updated on current events in Singapore.

• Ensures daily guest request is being met and follows-up on any requests and feedbacks.

• Promptly deliver and retrieve guest luggage, deliveries and messages.

• Any other duties as directed.

• To carry out safety and security related patrols according to the patrol route.

• To ensure due diligence by asking, checking, hearing and seeing.

• To handle any suspicious behavior and reporting it immediately to the Security Supervisor.

• To examine carefully the operation of fire safety facilities and equipment in all areas of the property and to report to the Security Supervisor on duty in case of any malfunction.

• To know well the location of all exits and to be skillful in operating various kinds of fire safety equipment.

• When performing patrol duties in the hotel / residence, to get the guest’s attention politely in case of noticing any apartment door that is ajar. If there is luggage in the apartment but there is no guest present, report it to the floor’s Room Attendant and the Security Supervisor on duty in order to ensure the safety of the guest in the property.

• To rush to the scene to assist in case of any emergency, to keep the scene intact and prevent tampering of evidence.

• To handle any fire related incidents properly by confirming the exact location and condition of the fire. 

• To put out the fire without jeopardizing own safety.

• To prevent anybody from bringing in any combustible or flammable materials into the property and to report to the Security Supervisor on duty immediately in case of any such findings.

• To ensure all associates reporting for duty tap in and out at the associate entrance / exit.

• To check the Property Exit Permit for all property being brought out of the property. To stop anyone violating the policy.

• To check and record all goods being brought into the property. To restrict any intoxicated associates from entering into the property. 

• To prohibit any associate on duty from leaving the property with the property’s uniform and without any valid reason.

• Any visitors, associates on leave or resigned associates are not allowed to enter the property unless getting prior approval from the relevant department and the Security department being notified in advance.

• All associates, contractors and visitors are subjected to have their belongings checked to prevent any loss or pilferage of articles from the property.

• To ensure property rules and regulations are adhered to and discipline is maintained within the property following disciplinary guidelines as described in the Associate Handbook.

• Any other duties as directed by the General Manager / Security Manager.

 

• Candidate must possess at least “N” or “O” Levels and above certificate.

• Valid Security License with the relevant modules as required by PLRD (Police Licensing Regulatory Department), based on the position held.

• Minimum of 1 - 2 years’ experience in Security and Customer Service related operations.

• Knowledgeable about local laws pertaining to safety and security 

• Attentive, courteous, conscientious, able to work well with both internal and external guests, observant, discreet and with no criminal record 

• Good physical condition and must be able to work variable shift hours and on weekends as per demand of the operations.

• Experience from the police force, auxiliary police force or in the military is beneficial.
