Role Summary:

The Director of Engineering & Innovation will lead OSOSs Technology and Innovation Center, steering product development and operational excellence across software development, quality assurance, DevOps, and infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in managing distributed systems and developing cloud-native solutions that support OSOSs expanding product suite. The Director will drive daily operations, provide solutions to complex challenges, and guide the team toward high-impact, innovative projects that foster business growth and operational efficiency. This hands-on leadership position also involves managing on-prem and cloud-based initiatives, balancing innovation with operational stability, and ensuring high availability for multiple OSOS products.

Key Objectives:

  • Manage Engineering & Innovation Center: Oversee product development, DevOps, infrastructure, quality assurance, and security across OSOS products.
  • Define Strategy & Execution Plans: Set goals, timelines, and guidelines for the Technology & Innovation Center, aligning projects with business objectives.
  • Build Scalable, Adaptable Solutions: Design software solutions that are customizable and scalable, ensuring adaptability across various client needs.
  • Establish Process Control: Develop processes and monitoring frameworks to enhance operational transparency, direction, engagement, and performance.
  • Foster a Culture of Innovation: Promote creativity, continuous learning, and growth within an environment of trust and collaboration.
  • Resource Management: Plan and optimize resources efficiently to meet the budget and company needs, while maximizing productivity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Oversee multi-functional teams (developers, QA, DevOps, IT operations) and foster collaboration across different technology stacks and environments.
  • Full Software Lifecycle Management: Lead development, testing, CI, and production for key product tracks.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, payroll, and expenses within budgetary limits and conduct financial reviews to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Personnel Management: Oversee hiring, onboarding, and performance management, and promote continuous professional development.
  • Standardization & Best Practices: Establish procedures to ensure harmony and efficient workflow between software development and IT teams.
  • Daily Operations Management: Oversee and optimize processes across all functional areas to meet company standards and objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality protocols to ensure consistency in product delivery.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and manage software risks, including cybersecurity and data privacy concerns, ensuring robust IT security policies.
  • Vendor & Partnership Management: Coordinate with third-party vendors and contractors, maintaining strong relationships for outsourced software development and support services.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to annual and 5-year plans across operational functions and ensure monthly/annual performance tracking.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 15+ Years in Software Development: Extensive experience in leading software teams and projects, with proven success in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • 5+ Years in SaaS Product & ERP Development: Demonstrated expertise in SaaS Product and ERP solutions.
  • 5+ Years experience in leadership / management role: proven experience in managing 75 - 100 employees under direct / in-direct reporting:
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong technical background in Java, PHP, .NET, Python, with knowledge of modern infrastructure elements (e.g., service discovery, API gateways).
  • Cloud Expertise: Proven experience with SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS across both public and private cloud environments.
  • Operations Leadership: Successful track record in managing large teams, optimizing resources, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business insights, develop technical proposals, and communicate effectively in written and verbal forms.
  • Additional Expertise in Big Data: Experience with big data infrastructure and development would be an advantage.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in technology, operations management, or business administration.
  • Management Software Proficiency: Familiarity with tools such as JIRA and open-source tech.
  • Strategic & Critical Thinking: Ability to think critically and align technical initiatives with business value.
  • Compliance and Legal Knowledge: Knowledge of safety regulations, IT compliance, and financial reporting.
