Our client, a boutique employee benefits broker, is seeking a Benefits Account Manager / Analyst to join their elite and highly collaborative team. This role involves managing a portfolio of fully funded and some level-funded accounts earned through referrals, preserving valuable client relationships while ensuring seamless service delivery. With a focus on account management, compliance, and carrier negotiations, this position offers an opportunity to work in a hybrid environment with an industry leader.
Responsibilities
- Manage a book of business consisting of fully funded and level-funded employee benefits accounts.
- Collaborate with multiple producers to handle renewals, marketing, open enrollments, and implementation processes.
- Facilitate carrier administration, negotiations, and compliance requirements.
- Utilize Benefits Navigator and Zywave (broker builder) tools for efficient account management.
- Attend in-person client meetings to provide exceptional service and support.
- Develop and analyze reports in MS Excel, including creating formulas and identifying trends or discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with clients and carriers to resolve issues and deliver results.
- Stay informed on compliance requirements and industry best practices.
- Provide client-facing support as needed, including assisting with presentations and open enrollment facilitation.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of independent agency experience with a focus on group/employee benefits.
- Proficient in MS Excel, including the ability to write formulas and analyze data.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify differences in quotes and estimates across plans and carriers.
- Experienced in managing self-insured, level-funded, and fully insured accounts from carrier and client perspectives.
- Knowledgeable in compliance regulations, including employee benefits requirements.
- Confident in client-facing roles with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with Zywave or similar tools preferred.
- Must have experience working for an independent broker (carrier, TPA, or captive referrals not accepted).
