Position: Traffic Control Manager

Our client is a leading supplier of Traffic Control Services, Safety Equipment and Apparel, Sensors, and Traffic related products in the Pacific Northwest Region. They are seeking a Traffic Control Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Traffic Control, ITS and Rental departments. This role will require strong leadership skills, excellent relationship-building capabilities, effective communication and sound judgement. Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Traffic Control Supervisors to ensure seamless communication between office and field activities.
  • Monitor the traffic control schedule continuously through dispatch.
  • Set up and supervise work zones per the traffic control plan as required.
  • Ensure field crew maintains appropriate training and applicable certificates.
  • Participate in industry-related seminars, meetings, and training to ensure up-to-date best practices.
  • Assist and follow up on quoted projects for traffic control, rental, sales and ITS Solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring issues are dealt with promptly.
  • Responsible for recruitment, scheduling, performance management, and policy adherence.
  • Be willing to travel to WA/OR/MT/WY/ID to assist with growth, sales, planning, and large projects.
  • Hold a valid passport with the willingness and ability to travel to Canada.
  • Ensure LEAN and 6S (Six Sigma) are being executed on a daily basis.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass MVR screening.
  • Ability to operate a forklift is desired.
  • Ability to pull and back up trailer-mounted equipment.
  • Traffic Control Supervisor certification preferred, but equivalent experience in road construction relating to traffic control may be considered.
  • Ability to undergo and pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol screening and Fit Test.
  • Approximately 5-10 years' progressive experience in the Traffic/Transportation industry is required.
  • Approximately 5-10 years' leadership experience is required.
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
  • Previous project management experience.
  • Previous experience in a LEAN/6S environment is a bonus!
