POSITION: HEAD OF DEMAND PLANNING

Our client is a leading diversified conglomerate operating in Sri Lanka and offshore with sole authorization for the worlds best engineered brands.

JOB ROLE:

As the Head of Demand Planning overlooking a portfolio of world-renowned brands, your role would involve overseeing the entire demand planning process by setting up S&OP for the Business Unit and ensuring the company's smooth operations with top notch client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Forecasting and Demand Analysis: Develop and implement robust forecasting models and techniques by setting up and leading the S&OP PROCESS for the Business Unit and Company, while analyzing historical data, market trends, and customer insights to identify demand patterns and factors influencing demand fluctuations.
  2. Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP): Lead the S&OP process to integrate demand planning with production, procurement, and inventory management. Coordinate with other departments to ensure the demand plan aligns with the company's production and supply chain capabilities.
  3. Demand Planning Strategy: Develop a demand planning strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and set targets for forecast accuracy, customer service levels, and inventory optimization.
  4. Collaborative Forecasting: Demonstrate exceptional LEADERSHIP Skills fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams, such as S&OP, demand planning, sales, marketing, finance, and operations, to gather inputs and insights for demand forecasts. Conduct regular meetings and workshops to gather inputs and incorporate the latest market intelligence.
  5. New Product Introduction (NPI): Work closely with product development teams to forecast demand for new product launches. Conduct market research, analyze competitor offerings, and collaborate with marketing to develop effective launch strategies.
  6. Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement: Monitor and track key demand planning metrics to assess performance against targets. Conduct regular reviews and analysis to identify areas for improvement, optimize forecasting models, and enhance accuracy.
  7. Technology and Systems: Evaluate and implement demand planning software and tools to automate and streamline the forecasting and planning processes. Leverage advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to enhance forecast accuracy and efficiency.
  8. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify and analyze potential risks and uncertainties that may impact demand, such as market disruptions, supply chain disruptions, or regulatory changes. Develop contingency plans and strategies to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
  9. Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of demand planning professionals. Provide guidance, training, and support to enhance their skills and knowledge in demand forecasting and planning.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering/ Supply Chain professional qualification related to Supply chain
  • 6·7years of experience in Demand Planning and 3·6years experience In a Managerial position
  • Exposure in MNC will be an added advantage
