Job Description:

As an Accountant, your primary responsibility will be to handle financial accounting and reporting tasks within the organization. You will work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure accurate financial information, compliance with regulations, and efficient financial processes. Preferred experience in the manufacturing industry and CA Part/Full qualification.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Accounting: Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledgers, trial balances, and financial statements. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data and provide insights and explanations for variances. Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including income tax, VAT/GST, and other relevant taxes. Collaborate with external tax advisors, as necessary.
  4. Cost Accounting: Support cost accounting activities, including the analysis of costs related to manufacturing operations, inventory, and production processes. Assist in preparing cost reports and variance analysis. Contribute to cost optimization efforts.
  5. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist the finance team in developing annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted figures and provide explanations for variances.
  6. Financial Systems and Processes: Contribute to the improvement and implementation of financial systems, processes, and controls. Streamline financial workflows and leverage technology to automate routine tasks.
  7. Inventory Management: Collaborate with the procurement and operations teams to ensure accurate recording and valuation of inventory. Assist in periodic inventory reconciliations and contribute to inventory control efforts.
  8. Month-end and Year-end Closing: Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results.
  9. Internal Controls: Assist in maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  10. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as department heads, managers, and cross-functional teams, to provide financial support and guidance. Liaise with external stakeholders, including auditors and tax authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a recognized accounting body.
  • Preferably, experience in the manufacturing industry, with knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in financial reporting, analysis, and financial software applications.
  • Experience with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of tax laws and experience in tax compliance is desirable.
