Job Description:

As a General Manager - Operations, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the organization. You will lead a team of managers and staff to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of various departments. Having a background in Industrial Engineering (IE) would be considered an added advantage in this role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management: Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency, productivity, and quality across all departments. Ensure that operational goals and targets are met while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
  2. Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of managers and staff. Set performance expectations, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and development opportunities. Foster a positive work culture and promote collaboration and teamwork.
  3. Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance operational effectiveness. Utilize Industrial Engineering techniques and methodologies to analyze and optimize workflows, eliminate waste, and improve overall operational performance.
  4. Budgeting and Cost Control: Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage operational budgets. Monitor expenses and implement cost-control measures to achieve financial targets while maintaining operational efficiency.
  5. Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and implement quality assurance processes across all operations. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve operational quality and efficiency.
  6. Supply Chain Management: Collaborate with the supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. Streamline supply chain processes to minimize lead times and optimize inventory levels.
  7. Risk Management: Identify operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Implement risk management practices to ensure the safety of employees, compliance with regulations, and continuity of operations.
  8. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and vendors. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong background in Industrial Engineering (IE) would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of operational best practices, process improvement methodologies, and quality management systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Budgeting and financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience in supply chain management and risk management is desirable.
  • Relevant industry certifications or qualifications are a plus.
