About the Host & Role Overview

Our host is an Australian-owned security services business combining electronic systems, monitoring and on-site support. The placement offers exposure to the IT infrastructure and electronic technologies used to support client security operations.

Key Learning Responsibilities

• Assist with supervised checks of alarm panels, detectors, CCTV and access-control devices to understand how electronic security systems work together.
• Support basic IT and network checks, including IP addresses, device connectivity and connections supporting security equipment.
• Review authorised alarm-event logs and fault records, document recurring issues and escalate findings to the supervisor.
• Assist with approved CCTV and access-control device and software checks, recording test results for technical review.
• Follow approved troubleshooting checklists to identify faults, check connections and document diagnostic steps under supervision.
• Review system records, faults and test results, and prepare clear reports, technical summaries and follow-up action logs.
• Participate in supervised on-site activities to learn about equipment layouts, installation practices, maintenance and system handovers.
• Perform accurate data entry, maintain equipment and service records in Excel, and assist with Power BI dashboards for system reviews and reporting
