About the job BESS Engineer (Renewable)
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate opportunities for integrating energy storage in projects with renewable generation assets.
- Provide engineering design support and address technical requirements related to energy storage systems.
- Recommend system improvements, optimizations, and support strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments and analyses using modeling and simulation techniques.
- Specify renewable energy requirements and facilitate integration with distribution and transmission grid systems through systems engineering.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of installation visits.
- Collaborate closely with renewable system engineers to develop layouts, output estimates, operation, and maintenance plans, as well as interconnection requirements.
- Develop and deliver project schedules, updates, and key decision briefs.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, with direct involvement in the energy storage industry preferred.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related majors from an accredited university.
- Preferred experience with energy management systems and SCADA.
- Familiarity with software tools like Homer Energy, SAM, and PVSyst is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of energy storage systems, including battery technologies, charging infrastructure, and grid integration solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical advice and consultations, effectively addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
- Strong analytical skills in assessing client load data and sizing energy storage systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for providing leadership and collaborating with diverse teams.
- Strong communication skills for delivering clear and concise project updates and synthesizing information for key decision briefs.
- Previous experience in defining and solving complex energy problems, identifying requirements, analyzing, and implementing energy system solutions.
- Proven ability to independently drive complex projects, both individually and as part of larger project teams, while maintaining a team-oriented approach.
