About the job Primary School Teacher

A Primary School Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons to students aged 5-11 (Grades 1-6). The role involves fostering academic growth, supporting social and emotional development, and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans in line with the school curriculum.
  • Teach core subjects such as Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies, and others (based on school requirements).
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, tests, and classroom participation.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate progress with parents.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure discipline and engagement.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning.
  • Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills in students.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and professional development sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, school leadership, and parents to support student success.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Education (B.Ed) or a subject-specific degree with a teaching qualification.
  • Certification: Valid teaching license/certification (depending on country requirements).
  • Experience: 1-3 years of teaching experience at the primary level preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong classroom management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Passion for working with young learners.
    • Creativity and adaptability in lesson planning and instruction.
    • Ability to engage and inspire students through interactive learning methods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching international curricula (IB PYP, Cambridge, British, American, etc.).
  • Knowledge of inclusive education strategies and differentiation techniques.
  • Additional certifications in Special Education, ESL (English as a Second Language), or Literacy Development are a plus.
  • Familiarity with digital learning tools and technology integration in teaching.
