Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily steel fabrication and erection operations to make sure that approved designs and specifications are followed.
  • Enforce all HSE regulations on work locations and hold toolbox talks every day.
  • Assign tasks to welders, fitters, and foremen while keeping an eye on daily progress in relation to production goals.
  • Organize joint fit-up and weld visual inspections in conjunction with QA/QC inspectors.
  • Make sure that specifications and dimensional accuracy are continuously observed.
  • Make sure the designated work areas are kept clean and equipped.
  • Monitor daily staff attendance and handle requests for overtime.

Requirements:

  • Technical certification or diploma; credentials as a welding inspector, such as CSWIP, are advantageous.
  • At least five to eight years of experience working in a shipyard as a structural or steel supervisor.
  • Basic computer abilities for email correspondence and regular reporting.
