About the job Die Cutter Operator

Operates Die Cutter Machine to develop end-result printed material in accordance with customer specifications:

Operate Die Cutter machine, troubleshoot and monitor operation.

Prepares Die Cutter by performing a variety of tasks to produce a consistent, high quality product by adjusting the die and register for pressure and cutting.

Perform a variety of make ready tasks for high productivity and precision operations, resolves defects and adjustments to produce high quality product.

Oversee General technicians working on equipment.

Make adjustments, clear jams, while processing product, maintaining speed and quality.

Ensure efficient and rapid make ready, with unloading and loading.

QUALITY:

Ensure quality of jobs completed by reviewing for quality and accuracy.

Makes sure jobs are complete and error free.

Ensures finished product exceeds customer expectations.

Ensure all checklists are completed.

Support and communicate all ISO standards and quality objectives.

Complies with cGMP, HACCP Food Safety Requirements and Chain of Custody Program Requirements.

SAFETY:

Ensures complete adherence and compliance to the OHSE policies. Assists team members in maintaining clean and safe environment.

Maintains and follows all company policies and procedures for safety, personal protection and hazard materials/waste handling according to established guidelines.

Follows all personal protection procedures by use of appropriate PPE at all times.

Follows established procedures and guidelines for the handling and disposal of all hazardous materials/waste.

Maintains and wears proper uniform according to company policy.

Use Company provided safety lifting equipment, i.e., hoist, jacks, vacuum manipulators, etc.

Properly stores and arranges work area to maintain cleanliness and safe environment following all safety rules and regulations for grounding, storage, spill clean-up, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma (or GED).

Minimum of 3 years of Die Cutting experience in the folding carton industry

Must have experience with die cutters that have blanking capability

Must have interpersonal and communication skills.

Must possess basic computer skills and mathematical skills necessary to compute percentages, weights and measures.

Must be able to perform any and all work or additional tasks as required or requested by Department Leads, Shift Leads, or Management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending and/or reaching, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, hearing and speaking.

Frequent lifting in excess of 60 lbs is required.

Must be able to hold, touch, feel and manipulate with hands product and equipment in a safe manner. Manual dexterity is required.

Use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus as well as good eye-hand coordination.

Must be able to rotate shifts and be available to work in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary to meet customer product needs.
