About the job Cardiac Sonographer
At the discretion of the overseeing clinical provider, in combination with the practice manager, the Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for the performance of echocardiograms.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Maintain echocardiography services in accordance with standards established by the American Society of Echocardiography as well as State and Federal agencies.
- Daily technical operation of the laboratory.
- Working with the Medical Director, medical staff and technical staff to ensure quality patient care.
- Perform echo exams on patients as ordered by physicians with first priority given to trauma and critically ill patients.
- Select proper ultrasound techniques to provide optimum quality ultrasounds.
- Position and instruct patients regarding procedures.
- Review and agree to abide by the Medical Center Compliance Program.
- Back up studies.
- Copy studies to disc as needed for review.
- Adhere to Hospital and Cardiology Department policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintain equipment and supplies.
- Maintain required records, documents, and statistics.
- Participate in both in-service and out service professional educational programs.
- Attend cardiology department meeting
Must-Haves
RDCS from ARDMS, CCI OR CRCS by CARDUP required within one year of hire.
Ability to work in fast paced environment3Effective communication and organization skills
Nice-To-Haves
3 years of Echocardiography experience or equivalent education and training preferred
