Sparkworks Energy is a technology startup seeking to on-shore manufacturing of consumer power products in Nigeria. With strong technical and commercial leadership, it is recruiting an internally experienced Production Manager to drive that process forward.

About the Role

As Production Manager/Director you will take responsibility for developing and improving production processes and increasing productivity across all key manufacturing areas. You will recruit, manage and develop staff, manage performance and provide training tools to enhance our workforce. health, safety and quality so it is vital you ensure standards are being met and adhered to. You will work with our IT team to establish an MRP system to help streamline production and deliver on KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of the manufacturing plant’s operations and maintenance.

• Establish an ISO 9001 framework and lead certification.

• Responsible for the on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices and procedures. 

• Assist with the design and build-out of new facilities.

• Work with business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability and efficiency.

• Deliver quality service and ensure all customer demands are met.

• Responsible for asset and inventory management.

• Assist in recruiting efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline preferred.

• Min 10+ years of Engineering, Production, Manufacturing operations.

• 5+ years of people management experience.

• Be able to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse, dynamic team.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong leadership and organizational skills.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.
