In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing the clients card payment interchange, reconciliations, and payment network billing. Your expertise in Visa and MasterCard payment billing, interchange, systems, and services will be crucial in delivering exceptional service and value to their clients.
Responsibilities:
Analyse fees and costs paid by banks to the scheme networks
(Visa and MasterCard)
Identify errors and anomalies in scheme billing data.
Payment Interchange reviews (earned and paid)
Identify and troubleshoot billing errors and discrepancies.
Recommend improvements in a clients payments environment to optimize their costs and reduce their network scheme efficiently in (Visa and MasterCard) billings.
Recommend services to utilize and to cancel to optimize costs.
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, regulations, and billing standards related to Visa and MasterCard payments.
Analyze card payment data and generate reports on payment performance, trends, and potential areas for improvement.
Requirements:
Experience in card payments (worked at a bank, fintech, or Visa and MasterCard)
Card Issuing and/or acquiring experience
Understanding of Visa and/or MasterCard services and billing invoices
Understanding of card interchange and how it is calculated.
Understanding of authorization, clearing, and settlement of card transactions.
Attention to detail
Excellent knowledge of Excel, PowerBI, or similar data tools is a plus
Ability to work with data
Bachelors degree in finance, business, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in payment processing or card industry regulations are a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve card-related issues efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data and reconciliations.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Up-to-date knowledge of the latest industry trends, card payments, and billing developments.
