Projects

  • Roll out a new module / project for an existing client that integrates with the wider Loan Origination System
  • Build the next-generation credit workflow and digital transformation software for financial institutions and implement it for client projects in Malaysia and overseas
  • The core software is involved in credit screening & checks / application / Automation / workflow optimisation.

Responsibilities

  • Project planning, monitoring and controlling scope, resources, costs and project activities, risk management and mitigation
  • Manage the clients expectations, scope & timelines, ongoing client management, dealing with new projects (20-30%) and change requests (70-80%)
  • Understand banking IT projects from a compliance governance, cyber security perspective, proactive risk management, maintain a simple risk registrar.
  • Lead a team of BA, QAs and Software Engineers assigned to the project - they are dedicated resources for the project but directly report to the CTO.
  • Use Earned value management (EVM) methodology to track the project progress & actual vs budget.
  • Use SDLC and a mix of Waterfall & Agile, most of the project is in MS Excel (with some MS projects at planning stage)

Culture

  • Your first few weeks will have comprehensive training on the product & modules, thereafter you will have one client / project at a time - ensuring quality results.
  • You will also spend time with the previous project manager (who is moving internally to a new client) to get a proper handover of the client expectations and key contacts.

Must Have

  • Experience delivering IT projects for Banks (Malaysian or International banks)
  • Successful lead (min 1) Banking IT project completed end to end (full cycle)
  • Proactive mindset to spot risks, delays and problems early and fix them

Nice to have

  • Experience with a software house or software vendor that has banking projects in SE Asia
  • PMP / PMI / PRINCE (Bonus) 

Level

  • 3-8 years in Project management (10-15 years total experience)
  • Previous can be BA, Architecture, Delivery, Software Engineer

Work Arrangement

  • 2 days in office, 3 days WFH & occasional site visit to client office.
