Projects

  • Lead digital transformation initiatives for some of KLs biggest insurance companies / insure-techs
  • Continuous optimization and scale on core web and mobile products

Responsibilities

  • Deliver proof-of-concepts, plan with the engineering team and lead the development to production stage
  • Work closely with the CPO - oversee both technical and product roadmap
  • Advise the CTO and CEO on strategic technical investments - plan for scalability, present the pros & cons of multiple tech solutions, and assess on resource management (in-house vs vendor)
  • Work with the sales and marketing team to support the expansion across SEA - understand the gaps in respective markets and provide technical customisation to grow the business

Team & Culture

  • Reporting to the CTO, you will lead a team of 12 full stack engineers (more to come) and have an EM or Tech Lead working alongside you
  • Champion an open door policy where ideas are heard and ideas challenged
  • Direct access to CPO, CTO and CEO - the CEO (well known entrepreneur with IPO experience)
  • Overall a team of proactive, hungry and driven problem-solvers

Must Have

  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience (Typescript, React, NodeJs, AWS)
  • Good eye on product - strong mindset towards customer or user impact
  • Experience being in a tech lead / EM position who had led team(s) in a start up / scale up / fast-growing company

Nice to have

  • Any exposure working with highly regulated industries (Banking, Healthcare, Insurance etc)
  • Bonus: You have been promoted multiple times with a growing scale up / start up

Grade / Level

  • Hands on engineering 30% of your time and people / stakeholder management 70%
  • There is a clear career path for you, within 12 months you should have grown your team to 13-15, hire / promote a new tech lead and be promoted to Engineering Director
