A progressive national law firm is seeking a Risk & Safety Manager to lead the next phase of its People Risk, WHS and Compliance evolution. With strong foundations already built, this role focuses on embeddingoptimising and elevating newly established frameworks, systems and governance cycles across the firm.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of People Risk & Compliance, you will lead national WHS strategy, systems implementation and people risk management. This is a hands‑on leadership role with influence across senior stakeholders, partners and the broader People & Culture team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead ongoing implementation and continuous improvement of QMS/HSMS and people risk frameworks.
  • Drive national WHS governance, audit cycles, risk assessments and compliance reporting.
  • Provide expert advice on complex Health & Safety matters and support senior leaders.
  • Oversee people risk processes including hazard identification, incident management and workers compensation.
  • Guide P&D Business Partners nationally on WHS, injury management and behavioural compliance.
  • Maintain and enhance WHS policies, training programs and legislative compliance.
  • Deliver high‑quality reporting for audits, regulatory matters and client tender requirements.
  • Lead WHS and people risk projects end‑to‑end.

About You

  • Strong WHS leadership experience, ideally in professional services or multi‑site environments.
  • Proven capability in systems implementation, governance cycles and risk management.
  • Confident advising senior stakeholders on complex WHS matters.
  • Pragmatic, solutions‑focused and able to embed frameworks with discipline and influence.
