Key Account Manager - a Top Global Commodities Warehousing MNC
The primary focus of the role is to handling the existing clients, build and maintain a strong relationship whilst developing additional revenue streams with the existing key clients and develop business opportunities from new leads.
The Role:
- Report directly to a Commercial Head, APAC
The Responsibilities:
- Responsible for growth of key accounts, whilst ensuring that client retention is effectively managed through constant engagement with existing clients and operations.
- Oversee and take ultimate commercial responsibility for nominated key accounts. Regular service calls to key existing clients
- Responsible for quotation handling including costing and pricing
- Contract Management to ensure that accepted quotations/contracts are updated in the companys WMS system, filed, audit-proof, and that their validity is monitored
- Monitor sales revenue per account on a monthly basis in line with company targets
- Hold and manage regular meetings with commercial and key customer service staff for review of existing business and information sharing
- Review, update and analyze system data and other relevant company reports
- Develop and manage commercial procedures and related documentation
- Responsible to coordinate and liaise with other departments in Singapore as well as other country offices for new business implementations, issues and/or disputes
- Ensure commercial team implement and review SOPs closely with regular assessments of shipments and services rendered, with reports on conformance/non-conformance to the operations executive and the clients
- Account management to keep track of clients on-going business and review with the customer service manager and team leaders
- Contract negotiations and liaise with product managers, legal department and management regarding terms, conditions, liabilities and regulatory requirements
About You:
- Minimum a college degree from an internationally recognized university
- Minimum 5 years of total working experience
- Experience in the third party logistics sector and/or management experience in non-ferrous metals sector is required
- Demonstrated warehousing and logistics operations expertise
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English is a pre-requisite
- Strong builder of relationships with interest parties
- Proven ability to work on cross-functional and multicultural teams
- Team player who can immediately inject innovation and creativity to current sales model
- Business acumen coupled with strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Customer service-oriented with an assertive and persuasive approach to work
- Possess organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise critical thinking
- Able to handle company information with confidentiality and discretion
- Demonstrated track record of revenue growth and proven sales success in previous role, ideally within the warehousing and logistics industry.
