We are seeking an experienced HR Coordinator, Onboarding & Training to join a dynamic Human Resources team within a multi-location organization.
This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys creating a positive employee experience, coordinating onboarding and training activities, and supporting a wide range of Human Resources processes in a fast-paced environment.
Summary
The HR Coordinator, Onboarding & Training is responsible for supporting a positive, structured, and consistent employee experience through the coordination of onboarding, training, and core Human Resources activities.
Acting as a primary point of contact for employee onboarding, this role supports new hires from pre-employment through their first 30 days of employment. The position also contributes to training and development initiatives, recruitment support, employee relations, HR administration, employee inquiries, and other ongoing HR programs.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, approachable, comfortable working with technology, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate the end-to-end onboarding process for employees, from offer acceptance through the first 30 days of employment.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for new hires and provide guidance throughout the onboarding process.
- Ensure all required new hire documentation is accurately completed, collected, verified, and maintained.
- Coordinate and support new hire orientations, including scheduling, communications, materials, and access to required systems.
- Partner with Hiring Managers to ensure new employees are prepared for their first day and departmental onboarding requirements are completed.
- Conduct applicable background checks and follow up on outstanding documentation or required information.
- Maintain accurate onboarding, recruitment, and training records and trackers.
- Support the development, coordination, and administration of employee training programs and learning initiatives.
- Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
- Assist with training-related reporting, audits, and recordkeeping.
- Support employee recognition, engagement, and other Human Resources programs and initiatives.
- Provide support with recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, and other Human Resources activities as required.
- Perform other related Human Resources duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of HR experience, including a strong understanding of recruitment.
- Experience with onboarding and orientation is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in hospitality, retail, manufacturing, or another fast-paced environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR practices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence facilitating training or orientation sessions for groups.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
- CPHR designation or candidacy is considered an asset.
