Our client, a growing manufacturing organization, is seeking a hands-on Director of Manufacturing Operations to lead production at their Charlotte facility. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced manufacturing leader with a background in regulated production environments, including CPG, pharmaceutical ingredient compounding, nutraceuticals, food, beverage, or similar industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day operations for a single-site manufacturing facility
  • Own performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity
  • Direct and develop production floor staff, managing schedules and daily operations
  • Production planning and scheduling across the facility
  • Equipment operation, maintenance coordination, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, SOPs, and other regulatory standards
  • Develop, implement, and train on SOPs and operational procedures
  • Manage batch records and batch release processes
  • Oversee quality systems management and product specification compliance
  • Manage raw material inventory oversight
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives — Lean, Six Sigma, OEE, waste reduction
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Leadership
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with 3rd-party engineers and facility personnel
  • Lead and prepare for FDA inspections
  • Be a visible, on-site leader engaged daily on the production floor

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience
  • Background in CPG, pharmaceutical compounding, nutraceutical, food, beverage, or regulated manufacturing
  • Proven experience running manufacturing operations or a full facility
  • Strong understanding of GMP-compliant environments
  • Experience with FDA inspections, batch records, and batch release
  • Hands-on leadership style; comfortable being on-site daily
  • Comfort operating in a startup or early-stage environment
  • Bachelor's degree preferred — Engineering, Operations, or related
