Director of Manufacturing Operations
Onsite: Charlotte, NC.
Our client, a growing manufacturing organization, is seeking a hands-on Director of Manufacturing Operations to lead production at their Charlotte facility. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced manufacturing leader with a background in regulated production environments, including CPG, pharmaceutical ingredient compounding, nutraceuticals, food, beverage, or similar industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day operations for a single-site manufacturing facility
- Own performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity
- Direct and develop production floor staff, managing schedules and daily operations
- Production planning and scheduling across the facility
- Equipment operation, maintenance coordination, and troubleshooting
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, SOPs, and other regulatory standards
- Develop, implement, and train on SOPs and operational procedures
- Manage batch records and batch release processes
- Oversee quality systems management and product specification compliance
- Manage raw material inventory oversight
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives — Lean, Six Sigma, OEE, waste reduction
- Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Leadership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with 3rd-party engineers and facility personnel
- Lead and prepare for FDA inspections
- Be a visible, on-site leader engaged daily on the production floor
Qualifications
- 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience
- Background in CPG, pharmaceutical compounding, nutraceutical, food, beverage, or regulated manufacturing
- Proven experience running manufacturing operations or a full facility
- Strong understanding of GMP-compliant environments
- Experience with FDA inspections, batch records, and batch release
- Hands-on leadership style; comfortable being on-site daily
- Comfort operating in a startup or early-stage environment
- Bachelor's degree preferred — Engineering, Operations, or related
