About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain / Production Planner to join a premier electrical and electronic manufacturing facility in Central Connecticut.

In this key operational role, you will align manufacturing capacity, material requirements, and production schedules with customer demand. You will work across procurement, plant operations, and logistics to eliminate material shortages, optimize inventory levels, and drive high on-time delivery rates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Scheduling: Create and maintain weekly/monthly master production schedules, balancing shop-floor capacity with sales forecasts and customer order fulfillment.
  • Inventory Optimization: Monitor raw material, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods levels to maintain optimal stock, minimizing carrying costs while preventing stockouts.
  • ERP & MRP Operations: Utilize enterprise ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MES) to release production work orders, update inventory records, and track material flow.
  • Material & Procurement Coordination: Partner closely with purchasing and logistics to verify component availability against upcoming production schedules.
  • Shop-Floor Troubleshooting: Track daily production progress and dynamically adjust schedules to mitigate equipment downtime, line delays, or rush orders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process bottlenecks, reduce scrap/waste, and optimize key metrics including On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery and schedule attainment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on supply chain, production planning, or material control experience within a manufacturing or plant environment. (Candidates with manufacturing supervisory or purchasing backgrounds are welcome).
  • ERP/MRP Systems: Solid proficiency in major ERP/MRP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and intermediate to advanced MS Excel.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and inventory management capabilities.
  • Location: Must reside locally in Connecticut and be able to work on-site in the New Haven County area.
