Job Title - Design Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Design Coordinator to support retail fit-out and store-design projects. The successful candidate will assist in coordinating design development, managing documentation, liaising with internal teams and external vendors, and ensuring design integrity during executional in a retail development and store-environment context.

Key Responsibilities

Support the design process for retail stores: assist in concept development, space planning, finishes/specification, fixtures and fittings.

Prepare and update drawings, 3D visuals, schedules, finish boards and material specifications in coordination with the design team and store-design guidelines.

Liaise with architecture/interior teams, procurement, project management and site contractors to ensure design deliverables are aligned with project timelines, budgets and brand standards.

Maintain project documentation and drawing control: revisions, approvals, as-built drawings and archive key design assets.

Coordinate with vendors/suppliers: collect quotations, track lead times for materials/fixtures, ensure on-time delivery of design items and monitor installation status on site.

Conduct site visits when required: check installation of design elements, reporting discrepancies or quality issues, and follow up until resolution.

Monitor design-budget spend, track change-orders, variations and support cost-control measures related to design components.

Support the rollout of new store launches, refurbishments or store-churn projects: manage checklist of design deliverables, installation schedules, hand-over documentation and ensure consistency across retail network.

Assist in maintaining brand and store-design standards: review stores for compliance with design guidelines, document deviations and propose corrective action.

Prepare reports and presentations for the design team and senior management: status updates, milestone tracking, vendor performance, cost/schedule variances and risk escalations.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors degree in Interior Architecture, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.

Minimum 2-4 years experience in retail store design, fit-out coordination, interior design or project coordination within retail or commercial environments.

Proficient in design/drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp or equivalent) and familiar with finishes, fixtures, furniture and joinery specifications.

Strong organisational and documentation-management skills: able to maintain drawing libraries, track revisions, and ensure clarity of records.

Good communication and coordination skills: comfortable liaising with multiple stakeholders (design team, procurement, contractors, store operations).

Knowledge of retail store build-out process (shopfitting, finishes, MEP coordination) and understanding of quality/installation standards is an advantage.

Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.

Professional, well-presented and able to work flexible hours if required (site-visits, store roll-outs).
