About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong MEP Engineer – SPA Division (Hydrothermal & Wellness Systems) to manage the engineering, coordination, installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems associated with spas, wellness facilities, hydrothermal areas, and specialized wet environments.

The role will involve working on steam rooms, saunas, hammams, experience showers, hydrotherapy systems, pools, Jacuzzis, water features, treatment areas, and associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and control systems. The ideal candidate will have strong MEP project experience with exposure to spa, wellness, hospitality, luxury residential, swimming pool, or specialized wet-area projects.

Key Responsibilities

MEP Engineering & Design

  • Review and develop MEP designs for spa, wellness, hydrothermal, and wet-area installations.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, layouts, schematics, equipment schedules, and material specifications.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drainage, water treatment, and control systems.
  • Ensure MEP designs meet project requirements, applicable standards, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Review equipment selections and ensure compatibility with overall system requirements.

Hydrothermal & Wellness Systems

  • Provide technical support for installation of saunas, steam rooms, hammams, experience showers, hydrotherapy systems, Jacuzzi systems, and other wellness equipment.
  • Coordinate heating, steam generation, water circulation, filtration, drainage, and ventilation systems.
  • Review hydraulic requirements including flow rates, pressure, pipe sizing, pumps, valves, and water circulation.
  • Coordinate specialist equipment connections with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and BMS systems.
  • Ensure appropriate waterproofing, drainage, ventilation, and humidity-control requirements are incorporated.

Project Execution

  • Manage MEP activities from design development through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and site teams.
  • Monitor installation progress and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and identify technical issues or installation deviations.
  • Ensure MEP works are completed within project timelines and quality requirements.

HVAC & Environmental Systems

  • Coordinate HVAC requirements for high-humidity and temperature-controlled environments.
  • Ensure appropriate ventilation and air-exchange requirements for steam rooms, saunas, hammams, and wet areas.
  • Coordinate dehumidification systems and condensation-control measures.
  • Review temperature, humidity, and air-quality requirements for wellness environments.
  • Coordinate HVAC interfaces with architectural and specialist wellness systems.

Plumbing, Drainage & Water Systems

  • Review domestic water, hot water, drainage, and specialist water-system requirements.
  • Coordinate pool, hydrotherapy, Jacuzzi, and wellness equipment water connections.
  • Ensure appropriate drainage slopes, floor drains, traps, and overflow systems.
  • Coordinate water-treatment and filtration equipment connections.
  • Monitor pressure testing, flushing, balancing, and system commissioning.

Electrical & Controls Coordination

  • Coordinate electrical requirements for specialist spa and wellness equipment.
  • Review equipment loads, power requirements, isolators, control panels, and cable requirements.
  • Coordinate BMS, automation, sensors, timers, thermostats, and control interfaces.
  • Ensure electrical installations are suitable for wet and high-humidity environments.
  • Coordinate emergency, safety, and isolation requirements with the electrical team.

Testing & Commissioning

  • Prepare and oversee testing and commissioning plans for MEP and hydrothermal systems.
  • Conduct functional testing of pumps, heaters, steam generators, HVAC systems, controls, and specialist equipment.
  • Verify flow rates, temperatures, pressures, humidity levels, and system performance.
  • Coordinate equipment commissioning with manufacturers and specialist suppliers.
  • Prepare commissioning records, testing reports, snag lists, and handover documentation.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all MEP installations comply with approved designs, project specifications, and applicable UAE standards.
  • Monitor quality of materials, workmanship, and installation practices.
  • Identify technical and safety risks associated with wet-area and hydrothermal installations.
  • Ensure appropriate electrical safety and equipment protection in wet environments.
  • Support inspections, authority approvals, consultant inspections, and project handovers.

Technical & Commercial Support

  • Review technical submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and material submissions.
  • Assist with BOQs, equipment schedules, technical specifications, and procurement requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to evaluate equipment specifications and technical compliance.
  • Identify design clashes and propose cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Provide technical support during project execution and resolve site engineering issues.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, MEP Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5–8 years of MEP engineering experience, preferably within spa, wellness, hospitality, swimming pool, luxury residential, or specialized wet-area projects.
  • Strong hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, drainage, water systems, and specialist MEP installations.
  • Experience with hydrothermal systems, steam rooms, saunas, hammams, hydrotherapy, pools, or wellness equipment is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP coordination, shop drawings, technical submittals, testing, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of UAE building regulations and relevant international MEP standards.
  • Experience working with consultants, contractors, specialist suppliers, and project teams in the UAE.
