Job Title - Procurement Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and technically astute Procurement Engineer to support our engineering and construction operations. The successful candidate will coordinate the sourcing, evaluation, and purchasing of materials, equipment and services, ensuring alignment with project specifications, cost targets, timelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Review engineering specifications, Bill of Materials (BoM), drawings and project requirements to determine procurement needs.

Identify and pre-qualify suppliers/vendors: issue RFQs/RFPs, evaluate quotations, conduct technical and commercial assessments, and negotiate terms to secure best value.

Prepare purchase orders (POs), contract documents and vendor agreements; establish delivery schedules, payment terms and compliance requirements.

Coordinate with project teams (engineering, operations, site, quality) and logistics to ensure timely delivery, inspection, receipt and documentation of materials.

Monitor vendor performance, delivery status, cost‐variance, quality non‐conformances and support expediting and follow‐up tasks.

Maintain inventory control, manage stock levels for critical items, track usage and assist in benchmarking cost savings and vendor consolidation.

Assist in developing procurement strategies, value-engineering proposals, cost-control initiatives and supplier development.

Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, contract terms, procurement compliance standards, and support audit or compliance reviews.

Prepare procurement reports, spend analysis, supplier scorecards, risk assessments and present findings to senior management.

Liaise with logistics, customs and import teams when required (especially for imported equipment or international vendors) to ensure smooth importation and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or similar) or Supply Chain/Procurement (or equivalent).

Minimum 3-5 years experience in procurement or supply chain roles within engineering, construction, MEP or related industry in UAE/GCC preferred.

Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, material/equipment procurement workflows and construction project dynamics.

Proven negotiation and vendor management skills, experience issuing RFQs, evaluating bids, managing contracts and POs.

Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; able to engage with engineers, site teams, vendors and senior personnel.

Analytical mindset: able to assess cost structures, supplier performance data, and identify savings or improvements.

Proficiency with procurement or ERP/SCM systems, MS Office (especially Excel) and reporting tools.

Fluency in English required; Arabic language skills are an advantage.

Valid UAE driving licence may be preferred (if site visits or vendor/supplier meetings are required).
