Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the transhipment operations for shipments between different regions, with a primary focus on Europe.
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of goods through transhipment hubs, managing both inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the transhipment process, reducing delays and improving cost-efficiency.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and port authorities to ensure timely delivery and compliance with regulations.
  • Supervise and manage a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and training to ensure high levels of performance.
  • Negotiate contracts with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other service providers to secure competitive pricing and quality services.
  • Track and monitor shipments, resolving any delays, issues, or discrepancies in the transhipment process.
  • Analyze and report on logistics performance, recommending improvements in processes, systems, and technology.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international customs regulations, import/export laws, and any other relevant trade regulations.
  • Develop contingency plans for potential delays or disruptions in the transhipment chain.
  • Ensure that the warehouse management, transportation, and distribution functions align with transhipment schedules and operational goals.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in transhipment logistics with a strong focus on the European region.
  • In-depth knowledge of European shipping routes, customs regulations, and supply chain practices.
  • Experience with freight forwarding, shipping line operations, and managing logistics teams.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize cost, time, and efficiency.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work with international partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage a team, foster collaboration, and lead with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software, Microsoft Office, and other related tools.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
