Job Title: Project Lead/Site Manager

Profile Summary
The Project Lead/Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing the estimation, planning, execution, and successful delivery of gas power plant in Africa. This role requires leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring safety and compliance, optimizing project execution processes, and meeting timelines and budget requirements. Strong experience in working and managing cross-functional teams and consultants is mandatory. The position will be based in Africa and will require close working with local teams as well international teams of qualified professionals
KEY RESPONSBILITIES
This position will be responsible for Construction, Coordination, planning and overseeing installation of Overall combined cycle power plant including Gas Turbine Generator, Steam Turbine, Heat recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), Exhaust Gas Bypass System, Tanks, Fuel Gas Skids, Balance of Plant
Equipment's, Piping (Critical & Non critical Piping) and its auxiliaries as well as Quality control and assurance of integrated systems.
Expertise in Installation of above major Equipment's along its auxiliaries along with associated piping.
Plan, execute, Mitigation and Proactive actions for on time deliverables.
Augmenting (available) resources, for a better and flawless execution.
To deal effectively with other disciplines: Lead(s) and Engineer.
Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team environment.
In depth knowledge in rotating equipment and aligning techniques. Familiar with erection techniques & methodologies.
Preparation/ review of method statements, Lifting Plan referring Crane load charts, Safety factors etc., especially Heavy Crawler Cranes, Tandem lifting (using multiple cranes) To develop, Safe & Smart working culture.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
Effective oral and written communications and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability
Guide erection engineer, site engineer, Subcontractor's supervisor(s) for better coordination and safe erection, especially Heavy Lifting items like Gas turbine(s), Steam turbine, HRSG Modules using Heavy crawler Cranes, Boom gantry cranes, Strand Jack systems etc.,
Preparation or review of method statements.
Progress reports (Daily/weekly/monthly), MIS reporting, monitoring Schedule, 3 weeks look ahead schedule, 3 months & 6 months look ahead.
Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project
Supporting construction phases of the project till handover the units to Commissioning., where little evaluation or ingenuity is normally required.
Ensure, all assigned tasks are carried out in compliance with quality and schedule.

Guide erection engineer, site engineer, Subcontractor's supervisor(s) for better coordination and safe erection of Structure, Module and other equipment using OEM erection procedures.
Walkdown, inspection, Hydro test, Chemical cleaning, Steam blow out etc.,
Closure of punch lists, Pre-commissioning requirements, tests, protocols etc.,
Commissioning hand over protocols etc.,
Preparation or review of method statements.
Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project.

Shall be responsible for the planning, design review, installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems in a Power Plant project.
coordination with engineering consultants, vendors, and construction teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective piping execution in accordance with the project specifications and timelines.
Ensure all piping materials (pipes, valves, fittings, supports) conform to project specifications and standards.
Conduct site inspections, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and resolve site issues.
Participate in walkdowns, punch list closure, and support pre-commissioning/commissioning of piping systems.
Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of piping materials and with QA/QC for material inspection and documentation.
Review and interpret piping design drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, GA drawings, and piping layout plans.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
Experience in Construction management of large size combined cycle power plant
Knowledge in rotating equipment and aligning techniques
Expertise in Installation of above major Equipment's along its auxiliaries along with associated piping.
Fast paced multi-disciplinary team environment. Familiar with erection techniques & methodologies.
Experience in piping management of large size combined cycle powier plant
Knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME/ ANS/, ASTM/ IBR, etc.)
Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
Effective oral and written communications and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability
Familiar with piping techniques & methodologies.
Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles.

EXPERIENCE
CERTIFICATIONS
15-18 Years+ of experience – Mechanical Construction Lead
BE, MS Project, Primavera, IPMA, PMP or any other available.
SELECTION CRITERIA
As mentioned above, 15-18 years' experience in the power plant projects with specific experience in erection of Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Heat Recovery Steam Generator, Exhaust gas bypass system, Balance of Plant and Associated auxiliaries.
Previous international experience is required.
Readiness to be at site based at Gabon, Central Africa
