Job Title - Site Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Site Engineer to oversee on-site construction and fit-out activities for retail environments. You'll ensure that the project is executed safely, on schedule, on budget and to specification from coordinating sub-contractors through to quality checks and site handover.
Key Responsibilities
Review drawings, specifications and scope of work for each retail fit-out project; assist in setting up the site program, material and manpower plan.
Monitor daily site activities: supervise subcontractors, installation works, progress of tasks vs the programme, report discrepancies and escalate delays.
Coordinate with MEP, interior fit-out, joinery, finishes and other trades to ensure works integrate smoothly and meet technical requirements.
Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure workmanship and materials comply with approved specifications, drawings and industry standards.
Track and report on material usage, manpower deployment, site progress, snag lists, and ensure that closing works are completed and documented.
Liaise with procurement or purchasing teams: raise material requirements, support vendor communication and ensure timely delivery of supplies.
Manage site safety and housekeeping: ensure that HSE standards are maintained, site is kept clean, safe and organised.
Coordinate site demobilisation and handover: ensure punch-lists are addressed, final inspection is complete, documentation and as‐built records are handed over.
Assist with scheduling, resource planning, cost control and forecasting where required; support site manager and project team in achieving budget and schedule targets.
Maintain accurate site records, daily logs, drawings revisions, change orders and ensure proper communication of changes to stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field (Diploma with strong experience may be considered).
Minimum 3-5 years of site engineering experience in a construction or interior fit-out environment, preferably within the UAE/GCC retail fit-out sector.
Strong understanding of construction processes, site supervision, finishes, MEP coordination and quality assurance.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings (architectural, structural, MEP), preparing site reports and managing documentation.
Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word) and site tools/logs; familiarity with scheduling software or site management tools is a plus.
Excellent communication, coordination and organisational skills; ability to work with multi-discipline teams and subcontractors.
Professional appearance and commitment to safety, quality and client service; fluency in English required Arabic language skills are beneficial.
