Job Title – Finance Controller

About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Finance Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure robust financial management within a dynamic shipping and logistics environment. The role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls while providing strategic financial insights to support business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & ReportingOversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting processes.Monitor financial performance and provide analysis to senior management.Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
Budgeting & ForecastingLead the annual budgeting process and financial planning activities.Prepare financial forecasts and monitor budget performance. Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.Support strategic planning through financial insights and projections.
Compliance & Internal ControlsEnsure compliance with UAE financial regulations and international accounting standards.Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of findings.Oversee VAT filings and other regulatory requirements.
Cash Flow & Treasury ManagementManage cash flow, liquidity planning, and banking relationships.Monitor working capital and optimize cash management processes.Oversee payment approvals and financial transactions.Ensure efficient management of receivables and payables.
Team Leadership & CoordinationLead and mentor the finance and accounting team.Monitor team performance and ensure timely completion of tasks.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations.Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
Strategic & Operational SupportProvide financial insights to support decision-making and business growth. Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost optimization. Support contract evaluations and commercial decision-making.Assist in implementing financial systems and automation initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred.8–12 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3–5 years in a senior or leadership role.Experience in shipping, logistics, or related industries is highly preferred.
