Job Title - Site Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and technically competent Site Engineer to oversee on-site activities for a construction project. The successful candidate will support project execution by ensuring works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget and according to specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Review contract documents, drawings, specifications and scope of work; interpret these to generate daily site activities and work lists.
Monitor and supervise subcontractors and trades on site: check that tasks are executed as per drawings, quality standards and programme schedule.
Coordinate civil, structural, MEP and finishing trades to ensure work interfaces are managed correctly and delays are minimised.
Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and verifications; raise punch-lists or non-conformance reports and follow up until closure.
Track material deliveries, manpower deployment, equipment utilisation and maintain site logs, daily progress reports and site diaries.
Liaise with procurement, logistics, quality assurance and safety teams to ensure materials/equipment meet specifications, are delivered on time and installed correctly.
Support scheduling and resource planning: assist in monitoring progress vs baseline, identifying bottlenecks and proposing corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations: enforce site safety protocols, maintain clean and safe site environment and report incidents.
Assist with hand-over process: coordinate final inspections, ensure as-built drawings are updated, documentation is completed and site is ready for turnover.
Maintain effective communication with the project team, stakeholders and management; ensure timely escalation of issues and change orders.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical field; Diploma may be considered with strong experience.
Minimum 3-5 years experience working on construction site engineering roles in the UAE or GCC region.
Good knowledge of construction methods, site supervision practices, drawing interpretation (architectural/structural/MEP), and quality control standards.
Able to use MS Office (Excel, Word) and familiar with site reporting tools; experience with construction software is a plus.
Strong communication, coordination and organisational skills; able to work on-site under changing conditions and manage multiple tasks.
Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
Valid UAE driving licence preferred (for site mobility).
