The Opportunity
Our client has an exciting newly created opportunity for a National Technical Training Manager to join their diverse and collaborative Tax team. This unique dual-role position combines technical expertise with learning and development leadership to drive excellence across their national Tax practice.
Reporting to the National Tax Quality and Excellence Lead Partner, you will oversee the creation, delivery, and continuous optimisation of technical training for Tax teams nationwide while also producing high-quality tax technical materials that establish and maintain the firm's reputation for technical excellence.
This role is ideal for qualified tax professionals from a Chartered Accounting background ("Big Four" or Mid-Tier National Firm) who are looking for a rewarding career pathway away from client-facing work, leveraging their interest and experience in Learning and Development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deliver comprehensive tax technical training programs aligned with the needs of different experience levels and market segments
- Collaborate with senior leaders across tax service lines to create timely and relevant tax technical thought leadership materials for internal and external stakeholders
- Manage the national technical training schedule and L&D budget, tracking expenses and providing regular updates
- Curate and maintain a knowledge library ensuring easy access to contemporary training tools for all Tax team members
- Lead national training initiatives and prepare project/business reports as required
About You
- Qualified chartered accountant with significant client-facing tax experience (5+ years post-qualification)
- Strong working knowledge of the Australian taxation regime
- Experience (or demonstrated interest) in managing technical development programs
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to identify gaps and align technical competencies
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with proven stakeholder management capabilities
