SENIOR MANAGER

Job Description: As a Senior Manager in our Business and Tax Services Unit, you will be a strategic leader driving excellence in tax and business advisory services and client relationships. Reporting to the Business Unit Managing Director, you will oversee a structured team of your own and participate and support the overall direction and growth of the Business Unit, while serving as a mentor and coach to manager and junior staffs. Your superior management skills and expertise in tax and business advisories will contribute to the future of our practice and drive sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities:

  • Be ultimately responsible for overseeing and ensuring the productivity level and timely completion of all sorts of work to meet the client expectation and requirements of internal policies.
  • Final review and approve the key compliance work final products (e.g. financials and tax returns) for a diverse client base allocated, to maintain high-quality level and adherence to the requirement of regulation and professional codes.
  • Develop and drive the delivery of tax advisory services to a diverse client base, adopting a holistic approach, and ensuring adherence to latest regulatory requirements.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, driving the development and implementation of new service offerings and delivery models.
  • Actively engage in business development initiatives, identifying opportunities to expand service offerings, grow client portfolios, and drive revenue growth confidently.
  • Mentor and develop people, providing guidance and support to enhance their leadership capabilities and professional growth.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments, providing thought leadership and insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Support managing director of the Business Unit, to develop, update and implement Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to achieve the overall strategy and objectives of the overall BU.
  • Support the business unit and managing director in owning and leading certain area of the internal work or initiatives e.g. training, workflow review, quality review etc.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic initiatives, contributing to the overall growth and success of the organization.

Requirements:

  • Full member of CAANZ, CPAA, or another equivalent reputable professional accountancy member organisation.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in tax and business services, including significant senior management/leadership roles (minimum 3 years) within an accounting firm or similar professional service organisation.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Australian taxation laws and regulations, with a track record of providing verbal and written tax advice to clients confidently, even for more complex areas.
  • Result driven mind-set, willing and capable of cutting through the complexity and hurdles and providing value-adding and holistic solutions.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, partners, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with a visionary outlook, capable of driving change and leading transformation.
