Responsibilities: 

  • Preparation and reconciliation of accurate and organised workpapers for all Accounts
  • Can prepare income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
  • Can prepare financial statements for companies, trusts and partnerships 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the firm
  • Provides training and mentoring to junior staff members
  • Understand legal structures and their tax implications
  • Liaises with various statutory authorities on behalf of clients including the ATO and ASIC
  • Ability to update, maintain and reconcile fixed asset register including new assets, processing depreciation, disposals, trade-ins
  • Understands and can prepare payroll
  • Understands and can navigate related party loans for large groups
  • Can prepare budgets and cash flows
  • Can prepare management accounts and analyse results
  • Virtual CFO tasks including review and processing payables and bank reconciliations for our large and high net worth family groups
  • Collaborate with clients, providing support to their business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Commerce / Business and CA qualified 
  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant in an accounting firm
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, taxation (including Income Tax, GST and CGT), and financial regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs and meet deadlines.
  • XERO certified and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly excel).
