Role Overview:

The Head of Credit will oversee the organisation'scredit function, managingcredit risk assessment, portfolio development, and strategic credit initiatives. The role focuses on driving the credit agenda, ensuring sound credit risk practices, and aligning the organisation's credit operations with long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Function Oversight:

  • Manage and oversee the organisationscredit function, ensuring alignment with market opportunities and organisational objectives.
  • Lead thecredit risk managementframework, focusing on effective risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.

Portfolio and Market Oversight:

  • Oversee the evaluation offinancial statements, capital structures, and credit metrics of issuers.
  • Monitor market trends and macroeconomic indicators, ensuring the organisations credit investments are well-positioned.
  • Supervise the comparison of securities across sectors and issuers to identify opportunities.

Portfolio Management:

  • Oversee the management ofshort-term instrumentsand structured credit products, ensuring optimised risk-adjusted returns.
  • Manage the impact ofadverse eventson the credit portfolio and ensure strategic adjustments are made as required.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor the credit team, ensuring robust expertise in credit analysis, risk management, and portfolio strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the credit function supports overall organisational goals.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with regulators, investors, and external partners to align the credit function with industry best practices and market developments.
  • Provide senior leadership with insights and recommendations to guide credit-related decisions.

Qualification & Work Experience: 

  • Education: Bachelors in Finance, Economics, or related fields (MBA/CFA preferred).
  • Experience: 10+ years incredit risk management, fixed income, or related areas, with significant leadership experience.
