Maintenance Watch Engineer

Cakum Global is recruiting a Maintenance Watch Engineer for our aviation client based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

Role Overview:
This is a critical aviation operations role responsible for coordinating AOG aircraft recovery, monitoring fleet technical performance, and ensuring effective communication between engineering, maintenance, flight operations, and continuing airworthiness teams.

Key Highlights

• Coordinate and manage AOG aircraft recovery activities
• Act as the central communication point between CAMG, MRO, Flight Operations, and Ground Operations
• Monitor aircraft defects, MELs, CDLs, delays, cancellations, and technical disruptions
• Provide technical advice and operational support to airline management teams
• Track fleet performance and produce regular operational updates and reports
• Support continuing airworthiness activities and compliance with CASA PNG regulations
• Participate in operational investigations and technical troubleshooting

Ideal Candidate

• Licensed DHC8 / ATR72 LAME Engineer or equivalent
• Strong understanding of MEL applications, continuing airworthiness, and airline technical operations
• Extensive aviation engineering experience in airline or maintenance operations
• Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure operational environments
• Knowledge of PNG aviation regulations and operational environment highly regarded
