General Manager Information Technology

Cakum Global is recruiting a General Manager – Information Technology for our client PNG Air based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

Role Overview:
This is a senior executive leadership role responsible for overseeing all information technology, telecommunications, and systems operations across the business. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role will drive IT strategy, infrastructure reliability, system security, and operational efficiency in a dynamic aviation environment.

Key Highlights

• Lead and manage all IT infrastructure, telecommunications, and systems operations
• Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business objectives
• Oversee system security, hardware/software maintenance, and network operations
• Manage IT budgets, vendors, contractors, and technology resources
• Drive technology improvements, system reliability, and operational efficiency
• Lead IT teams, staff training, and ongoing capability development
• Support compliance with aviation, safety, and regulatory standards

Ideal Candidate

• Degree or higher qualification in Information Technology or related field
• Significant experience in senior IT leadership or management roles
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure, networks, systems administration, and IT operations
• Proven experience managing budgets, projects, and multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in aviation or highly regulated industries highly regarded
