Our client is a Brisbane based, innovative Defense technology company seeking an exceptional Systems Engineer to support a Naval communications upgrade project.

This position will oversee and manage the V&V team for a high-tech military SATCOM project, reporting into the Senior System Engineering Manager.  They will be responsible for the delivery of the V7V program (VCRM, ATP, ATR) for the system testing and acceptance.


Key responsibilities:

  • Providing professional engineering services across the entire system engineering life cycle including conception, defining the requirements, design, integration, verification & validation (V&V) and acceptance.
  • Achieving engineering and project milestones within the project schedule, including development of assigned, compliant system engineering documentation including the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP).
  • Contributing to design reviews, workshops, integration and V&V activities.
  • Working effectively as an embedded leader within the clients organisation, including providing leadership to assigned resources and working effectively with all other stakeholders and broader team members.
  • Delivering systems engineering services on time, within budget and to the highest quality expected. Provide regular reports, including management briefings when required.
  • Providing leadership and coordination of assigned team members.
  • Liaising with customers, end-users, subcontractors and suppliers.

Your Qualifications

    The successful applicant will be a qualified Systems Engineer who has:

    • Bachelor of Engineering qualifications in Electrical/Electronics or a relevant degree in Engineering, preferably majoring in Systems, Radio Frequency, Mechatronics, Electronics, Communications, or Aerospace
    • Proven experience in delivering system engineering projects in a Defence environment.
    • Detailed understanding and technical expertise in V&V activities.
    • Knowledge and experience applying IPS (Integrated Product Support) methodologies.
    • A demonstrated, structured approach to delivering projects.
    • Australian Citizenship, with eligibility to hold an Australian NV1 security clearance.

An initial 6 month contract, that has the possibility of extension either on this program or other innovative projects for our client, who is on a solid growth trajectory.
