Commercial Layer Department Manager

Cakum Global is recruiting a Commercial Layer Department Manager for our client based near Lae, Papua New Guinea.

Role Overview:
This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing large-scale commercial layer operations, ensuring optimal egg production, flock health, and operational efficiency across multiple farm sites.

Key Highlights

• Lead day-to-day operations across rearing and egg layer production farms
• Drive production KPIs including egg output, mortality, feed efficiency, and flock performance
• Enforce strict biosecurity, animal welfare, and compliance standards
• Manage feed planning, flock placements, and production schedules
• Oversee a workforce of 80+ staff and develop farm leadership teams
• Monitor performance data and implement continuous improvements

Ideal Candidate

• Degree in Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, or related field
• Minimum 10 years' experience in commercial layer or poultry operations
• Strong leadership experience managing large farm teams
• Deep knowledge of flock management, biosecurity, and production systems
• Data-driven with strong planning and reporting capability
• Experience in large-scale (>500,000 hens) operations highly regarded
