Associate Technology Support Specialist

We have an opportunity for an Associate Technology Support Specialist to join our team in Penrith, NSW. This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career in ICT and Defence whilst gaining hands-on experience in real-world, high-security environments.

As an Associate Technology Support Specialist, you'll be supporting our technology delivery teams and experienced Systems Engineers and Administrators, assisting with ICT builds and deployments, whilst developing your skills in scripting, automation, and security. This role offers a specialist ICT career pathway, with mentoring and professional development to enhance your skills and experience.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Provide first-line support and maintenance (helpdesk) for users and systems.
• Assist with operating system builds and standard operating environment (SOE) deployment.
• Support imaging, PaaS builds, and application deployment.
• Help automate installation and system configuration using tools such as PowerShell.
• Maintain documentation and configuration management practices.
• Assist with patching, monitoring, and performance management.
• Support disaster recovery and backup processes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Certificate III in Information Technology (Any disciplines considered) or
• Currently studying an ICT-related qualification (Certificate III, Diploma, or University degree).
• Basic experience or interest in ICT systems administration, Windows Server, Scripting, or Automation.
• IT certifications such as CompTIA+, ITIL, or Microsoft-related credentials are a plus but not essential.

Skills and Attributes Were Looking For:

• Australian citizen (required for Defence projects) with the ability to obtain a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance. We will talk you through this process at phone interview.
• Ability to work from onsite from our Penrith HQ.
• Australian Drivers License.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Clear, confident communication skills.
• Highly organised with attention to detail.
• Eager to learn, adaptable, and able to work well both independently and in a team.
• Interest in Defence, technology, and systems engineering.
