About the opportunity:

You will provide a range of DevSecOps Engineering advisory duties supporting our clients in Defence and Govt, either on client site or back of office.

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Defence DevSecOps Engineers to support upcoming Defence contracts in either permanent or contracting engagements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, security automation, and cloud infrastructure, with a passion for ensuring that security is at the forefront of our technology solutions.

You could be expected to:

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines that integrate security checks and balances throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with software developers, system engineers, and security teams to embed security best practices and principles in all stages of the development process.
  • Automate security testing and compliance validation within the development pipeline, ensuring that security vulnerabilities are identified and addressed early.
  • Develop and implement security monitoring and incident response strategies to detect, analyze, and respond to security incidents in real-time.
  • Provide expertise in secure coding practices, vulnerability management, and threat modeling to ensure that our systems meet the highest standards of security.
  • Work closely with the defense sectors IT governance teams to align DevSecOps practices with regulatory frameworks and industry standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of security processes and tools, staying up-to-date with the latest security threats and technologies.

Qualifications Relevant To Your Experience.

  • Due to the nature of our work, An Australian Citizen with a current or recently inactive AGSVA clearance is required.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise workload.
  • Able to show initiative and adaptable to client requirements.
  • Able to build and maintain relationships.
  • Able to manage conflict.
  • A self-starter who takes the initiative with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • A high level of communication both written and verbal.
  • An ability to work either individually or as part of a broader team.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in a DevSecOps, DevOps, or similar role, preferably within the defense, government, or critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of secure software development practices, including secure coding, threat modeling, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and security standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and ASD Essential Eight.
  • A passion for learning and staying updated with the latest industry trends.
