Job Overview

As a Travel Consultant at our innovative adventure travel agency startup, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and seamless travel experiences for our clients. You will be responsible for coordinating and organizing travel arrangements, managing itineraries, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and possesses excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare travel packages as requested from the client.
  • Stay informed about various travel destinations, including local attractions, culture, and customs.
  • Provide clients with accurate and up-to-date information about their chosen destinations.
  • Conduct consultations with clients to understand their travel preferences, requirements, and budget constraints.
  • Build rapport and establish a positive relationship with clients to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Create personalized travel itineraries based on clients' preferences, taking into account factors such as transportation, accommodation, activities, and budget constraints.
  • Provide recommendations for attractions, dining, and other relevant aspects of the travel experience.
  • Ensure all travel arrangements align with the client's expectations and budget.
  • Provide information and guidance on passport, visa requirements, and other necessary travel documentation.
  • Assist clients in obtaining the required documents and meeting entry requirements for various destinations.
  • Make reservations for flights, hotels, rental cars, cruises, and other travel-related services.
  • Ensure accuracy in booking details, including dates, times, and any special requests.
  • Address clients' questions, concerns, and inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients before, during, and after their travels, including handling emergencies or unexpected changes.
  • Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during the planning or execution of travel arrangements.
  • Work to find satisfactory solutions for both clients and service providers.
  • Promote travel packages, special deals, and exclusive offers to clients.
  • Upsell additional services, upgrades, or amenities to enhance the overall travel experience.
  • Collect payments for bookings and process financial transactions accurately.
  • Provide clients with receipts and details of their transactions.
  • Actively participate in marketing efforts to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
  • Build and maintain relationships with travel suppliers and industry partners.
  • Keep accurate records of client preferences, travel histories, and other relevant information.
  • Use customer relationship management (CRM) systems to manage client data.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Travel Coordinator/Consultant.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer needs in the travel sector.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent knowledge and fluency in using travel booking systems, reservation platforms and other relevant software.
  • Results-driven with a focus on achieving revenue targets.
  • Well versed in various areas of travel (domestic/international, business/holidays, group/individual etc)
  • Ability to present, persuade and communicate effectively.
  • Accuracy in managing travel documentation and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Relevant field education certification, diploma/degree (Hospitality/ Tourism degrees is a plus)
  • Adaptability and willingness to work in a dynamic startup environment.
