What You'll Do
As a Medical Intake Specialist, you will support Wellness Care by completing basic pre-visit intake for patients scheduled for a CCM initiating visit. You will gather the minimum required patient information needed to prepare charts for licensed clinicians. This is a non-clinical, administrative role focused on accuracy and completeness of patient data.
Key responsibilities include:
- Complete basic pre-visit intake by phone.
- Confirm patient demographics and contact information.
- Collect insurance information.
- Document patient-reported medication lists.
- Confirm chronic conditions.
- Enter information accurately into the system.
- Flag missing information and escalate issues appropriately.
Scope of Role
This role does not provide medical advice, perform clinical assessments, create care plans, or make medical decisions. All clinical review and visit documentation are completed by a licensed clinician.
Who You Are
We are looking for highly detail-oriented candidates who meet the following criteria:
- High attention to detail with a proven track record of accuracy in administrative or data-heavy roles.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in administrative support, healthcare support, or operations.
- Comfortable working with desktop-based platforms and learning client-specific systems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to process information efficiently.
- Excellent written English communication; additional client-facing communication skills are a strong plus.
- Ability to remain focused and consistent even during peak workload periods.
- Resourceful, reliable, and proactive when handling discrepancies or process gaps.
- Experience in healthcare or medical intake is highly desirable.
Technical Requirements
- High-speed internet (minimum 20 Mbps or fiber connection)
- Fast and reliable computer
- Noise-canceling headset (for potential phone support)
- Power and internet backup required
Rates and Expectations
- Work Setup: Remote
- Rate: $6 per hour
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with high-volume operational tasks
- Work Schedule: To be determined, potentially EST or PST business hours.
